Green flag

Green Flag breakdown specialists.
Have been with them for 4 years with my car and SWMBO car on the policy giving us full cover in the event of a breakdown.
Each year we got a no claims discount which resulted in the policy being a few pounds cheaper each year but this year despite the no claims discount the price increased by £15.
So  contacted them on the free phone number  and was advised to remove one car from the policy  and to select personal cover for myself and SWMBO thus reducing the price by £14.
Now we come to the daft bit, personal cover means that either myself or  SWMBO  are fully covered for any  car that we are in irrespective of if that car belongs to us or not and full cover means that vehicle and up to 5 passengers  can be taken from the point of breakdown to any other location in the country if the vehicle cannot be repaired at the roadside.
I phoned them a second time and a different person confirmed this was the cover I had.
To me it makes no sense, it was more expensive to have 2 cars named cars covered than having personal cover that includes any car.

Have a look at Start Rescue.....
http://www.startrescue.co.uk/
Various options on there.... been with them for a while.... cheap enough... and they do bring you home or to your destination, whichever YOU choose, if the car is not repairable at roadside.

Re: Green flag

We're with Green Flag and have full cover on one car plus personal cover for myself and SWMBO.
We have 2 cars but only one is insured for all the family (none now living at home) so that's the full cover one.
Doesn't cost much.

Re: Green flag

Give ASDA a try too - we got covered there for £5 each per month, any car, homestart (i think) etc.
To be honest, only ever used them once and can't remember the details but my missus reckoned it was the best out there for both features and price.
Bad bit.. they basically resell green flag lol... but cheaper than green flag could quote  Crazy
I need a new signature... i'm bored of the old one!

Re: Green flag

I have 'free' (£15 a month which includes travel insurance, will writing, legal help, gadget cover, mobile phone insurance and other stuff) RAC breakdown cover which appears to be the full package currently £253.99 on their website Smiley
