Grand National

It's the only race I bet on but haven't done so for a few years.
SWMBO and I have chosen our respective horses and will place the bets some time tomorrow.
But SWMBO asked a simple question...
What happens if a horse doesn't start (illness or some other reason); do you lose your stake or, as it's before the race starts, do you get it back?
Any punters out there with an answer?

Re: Grand National

No you won't lose your money.  If your horse doesn't start then you get your money back.  Non-runners do, however, affect the odds of other horses in the race.
