Why is it the first words one learns in a foreign language tend to be swear words.
I have a few in Gujarati and Swahili

@ Strat - Indeed. Foreign languages are a lot some colourful with some of their swear words/phrases too.

You have to wonder how you get to the stage where you need those phrases without already speaking the language pretty well  Roll eyes

One or two of the most insulting phrases I know refer to having relations with close relations...if you see what I mean Embarrassed
In communities with very close family ties such phrases are very popular in disputes..

It comes in handy when married to one whose mother tongue is Gujarati in my case.
That way you know when you are being sworn at. The rest comes naturally.
I'm not fluent Gujarati by the way.
