I was born in Bridlington on the Yorkshire coast.
@shutter I also remember the bags of reject chocolates. A friend used to bring them for us. I seem to remember ours came from Rowntree's.

A friend of mine worked at the Bassett (Liquorice Allsorts) factory.
I soon learned of the benefits of Liquorice on the bowels

Certainly agree Yorkshire has a lot to offer, folk can be a bit secretive there as I have often asked about the tea plantations but all you get in return is a smile.

The fishing's good in Yorkshire too, I can vouch for that.
Growing old is inevitable...But growing up is optional.

Ah the Yorkshire Belle, I remember it well. Always a treat to cruise along the cliffs to Bempton and Flamborough Head.
Although I was born in Brid I actually grew up in Flamborough and returned there each summer when my family moved south.
