I have no wish to be disrespectful to his memory or to his many fans, but...

I was never a fan of Wham or the later career of George Michael. I think he may have been very lucky to have been around at the right time in the right place (you can read into that whatever you wish)

A genius? - as I've heard him described -

Even if he was - which I doubt - does he warrant six pages in today's Daily Mail. Must be a slow news day.

 It's more of a slow news period than a slow news day with the guy still making it across the board - which is just bizarre.

Successful, popular, and decent singer songwriter sure but a genius along with his fake tan absolutely not, and to be called one by the media along with his Luvvy contemporaries and fans just demeans the term in very much the same way Christmas has been demeaned by hype, greed and commercialism.

Anyways, 2017 around the corner and then it's back to some sort of reality - but don't count on it, the Easter bunny is on its way. At least the new year is real with no hype needed. Just bring a bottle!
