Genes In Space

I just heard about this on the BBC Radio 4 Inside Science programme. (I don't have a smart phone so I cannot give a review).
If you are going to spend time playing games on your mobile phone why not help cure cancer at the same time?

Perfect case the the funds raised for the charity are not 100% spent in the correct ways & are wasted
Why aren't the lesser know charities like the Meningitis Appeal given a fair chance ?Huh

Wasted?  According to the report, the game is a citizen science project analysing real data for research not just a PR stunt.  If it delivers results then the effort and cost of developing it will be more than paid back as the charity will not have to use so much of its own staff &/or computer time doing the work.
