According to the votes this was the funniest joke at the EF, to me it's predictable so I don't think it's funny at all, do you?
But I do think this is funny:
"My friend is so mean, when he dropped a pound coin the other day it hit him on the head when he bent down to pick it up!"

the joke I heard wasn't that it was "I don't like the new pound coin but then I'm against all change" or something like that

Now @Strat, is that you didn't read the OP properly or find the joke in the video funny, or come to that my joke? Or maybe my joke needs explaining, I don't know.

I thought the joke in the link was humorous but not down-right funny - maybe it was his delivery?
I don't understand the 2nd joke @Anonymous.

I did like these:
‘I’ve given up asking rhetorical questions. What’s the point?’
I like to imagine the guy who invented the umbrella was going to call it 'brella' but hesitated.

@Anonymous I skipped the link and read the joke in the box as the funniest when in fact neither would qualify in my book.
@Mav I like those.

To explain @Mav the guy was so mean he bent over so fast when he dropped the coin (so no one else could get it) that it hit him on the head as it fell.

My favourite from the Fringe -
"Combine Harvesters. And you’ll have a really big restaurant.”
As @Mav hinted, the delivery can make a difference in whether a joke works or not. A lot of Tommy Cooper's one-liners wouldn't work if said by someone else.
