Fuel Prices

I ran my car until today the petrol light came on and I filled up at 117.9ppl less 2ppl discount = 115.9ppl compared to 128.9ppl 12 months ago.
Long may it continue.
I long to see the total cost display lagging behind the quantity display on the pump as I fill up but I guess it's wishful thinking.

Re: Fuel Prices

Our local BP petrol station is doing 2 days a week 'cheap petrol'. Yesterday I paid 113.9p a litre. Currently it's 114.9p. It's the cheapest I've seen Smiley Smiley

Re: Fuel Prices

117.9 is the cheapest round here however I can't help but wish it would drop back to 85.9 as it was 7 or years ago.

Re: Fuel Prices

...to when my dad got his first car and it was 3/6d per gallon
It would just be nice to see the pennies on the display move slower so that I can stop exactly where I want it to Wink

It would have been around 1964 when I did a Saturday morning job at the local garage; 4/11d for 2 star, 5/1d for 4 star. 3 star was 5/0d - half from each pump!

Re: Fuel Prices

I think there would be a hell of a lot more complaining if the prices were clearly displayed per gallon.
I have always thought the move to litres was a cynical ploy.

I had a frying pan from Greenshield for years, it was heavy enough to be a weapon. Wonder why husband suggested a new one when we married? Crazy

Paid 115.9 on Monday in Milton Keynes.
Can't recall what fuel cost back in 1957 but I do remember getting 4 galls for £1  Smiley

N|ice though it is to see prices dropping I'll wear a cynical hat and wonder if our beloved chancellor will think its about time to un-freeze the duty that has been so for some time now.
Experience; is something you gain, just after you needed it most.

When faced with two choices, simply toss a coin. It works not because it settles the question for you. But because in that brief moment while the coin is in the air. You suddenly know what you are hoping for.

Re: Fuel Prices

It's actually CHEAPER here in the sticks than it is in Edinburgh, it used to be 5-10p/l dearer. But Asda opened a petrol station ;-]
Not much but 1p/l is 1p/l
