I'm not 😁 have 2 days holiday. How on earth did I plan that, the factory will be like a sweat box.

Maybe off to Skegness for one of the days 😄 although worryingly the misses suggested going to Birmingham! 🙄

Ever helpful. Grin Sure, I’d love to help you out. Now which way did you come in?

Re: Fry Day

@idonno

The beaches are much less crowded in Birmingham and the tide never goes out. Could be a good day out.

Re: Fry Day

Reflective mirrored window solar privacy film, some reflective home made window boards, and thick closed curtains.

Large electric Fans.

Keeps house cool.

No problem sleeping.

Plus several large jugs of refrigerated drinks.

Re-usable ice cubes. Ice cream/ Choc Ices !!!

Batch cooked food, reheated in microwave, so no hot oven.

Plus of course..... Sandwiches.

Very large hat, and sun brolly, factor 50 sun cream, really old misting attachment for hose, that does a great job.

Paddling pool.

When it's really HOT, we stay COOL.

One thing we don't do, is travel anywhere.

Enjoy the day, stay safe, keep cool.

The sun has got his hat on Hip-hip-hip hooray
The sun has got his hat on
And he's coming out today
Now we'll all be happy
Hip-hip-hip hooray
The sun has got his hat on
And he's coming out today

Re: Fry Day

I'm still waiting for an 18" fan blade from our favourite cheap country to arrive, last seen on the tracking site on the 1st of this month, intended to be fitted to the wall fan I bought & fitted a month ago, which came with a 16" blade, which works on there, thought sounded like a plane taking off, but works better at a lower speed on my desk fan (which had a 12" blade!), so I wanted a bigger blade to slow it down, or something...

Sod's law dictates that it'll arrive next week when it's set to be the usual british summer weather of dreary, cold & miserable... 😂

Re: Fry Day

We buy our fans from CPC, next day delivery, though we buy well in advance.

On offer at the moment.

Re: Fry Day

Knowing China build quality (*cough*) that will last for around a yoctosecond.

Thanks for letting me know, I will have to pop on the bus to a bigger supermarket near me just as I need some deoderant. Boring stuff I know, just the local Sainsbury's and Co-Op at my village are food only.

I will take the bus journey and go to the bigger supermarkets.

Re: Fry Day

I hate anything above 24degs. Why there are sun worshippers I have no idea. I can't think of anything worse, all that humidity, hot, sticky and gives me a headache.

We bought one of those dyson cooling fans, expensive but they do work. Have a ceiling in the bedroom so no problems at night.

Re: Fry Day

Rare we get problems with heat up here in the North, although I must admit in recent years it has certainly been getting warmer.

Trouble is this warm and often wet weather brings with it a load of bugs, eg: Wasps, Flying ants, horseflies ......

Maybe this thread won't just disappear if we only talk about ceilings and bugs.

How about plusnet are wonderful.

Surely it won't get deleted now.

Haha, @Champnet that's my dyslexia, reading what I think I have written and not what I have written. 😋

The missing word was of course fan. 🤣
