FreeviewHD-Anyone any further news?

The last topic on this petered out (or pierre.d out) in April of last year
Has anyone heard any more about the requirements for receiving HD.
Is it still necessary to get a satellite dish and a decoder box?

not yet on Terrestrial, I have a mag article, 4 pages, might try and scan it.
Freesat HD, if you have an existing Sky dish, thats OK,  But you have to get a HD reciever, either Freesat or Sky, shall I copy the articles for you and attach as PDF?

HD on Freesat (and Freesat from Sky which is different) require a dish and are available now.
Freeview HD will be available for four channels within the next few years. Existing Freeview boxes will not be able to receive HD transmissions.

Re: FreeviewHD-Anyone any further news?

below what can you recieve.  there are a lot of satalites, the Sky dish is normally set at 28.3E so it looks at Eurobird 1 and Astra 2d.  if you are clever you can have a movable dish that will get a lot more.
The second is a list of the HD broadcast on the above two.  Sky normally uses Videogauard Encryption as shown above each section, this means to have to have a paid subscription.
the only free ones are Eurobird - ITV HD, Sky Rush and Sky Luxe -  Astra BBC
A Freesat HD reciever is capable of getting all broadcast in clear, the instruction tell you how to tune in a channel that is not in the normal set up
