France

For some time now I have seen press reports of how badly France is doing from a financial point of view in contrast to this country which is doing well, so I was surprised to recently read that we have a much bigger  national debt than France.
If things continue as they are then we will overtake France but the assumption is, "if" and we all know what the outcome of assumptions can be.

Re: France

but in terms of % of gdp france is at meant to hit 95% this year the uk stay around (or drop below?) the 90% mark.
so in those terms the uk debt is more serviceable.

edit: just read this article suggesting france's gdp /debt ratio could go to 120% in 5 years  http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/economics/11154553/Dam-breaks-in-Europe-as-deflation-fears-wash-o...

Re: France

I saw on the news this morning that the French are leaving France in droves, one pundit was suggesting that in 30 years France will consist of a few elderly French people and the other 100 million will all be immigrants if the current trend continues ....
just because your paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you
