Former BT CEO joins Ofcom Board
The Government has appointed Ben Verwaayen to the Ofcom Board. An interesting decision when the future of Openreach is under debate. During BV's reign BT chose Chinese core network equipment suppliers over incumbent UK suppliers effectively wiping out the UK telecoms manufacturing industry. BV is also credited with driving the introduction of Broadband in the UK.
Now Zen, but a +Net residue.

I seem to remember BT acting like sharks to get broadband rolled out. BT Anytime dialup became so unusable that someone leaked an internal memo to BBC watchdog showing they were doing it deliberately to get users to take broadband at much higher prices.
Having someone who has overseen BTs awful customer attitudes now working at Ofcom only means one thing: bad news for customers.
I need a new signature... i'm bored of the old one!
