Foreign workers kept breaking the loo

Hi All
Just seen the by the Daily Mail:
[quote="Daily Mail"]
Warehouse installs European-style squat toilet because foreign workers 'kept breaking the loo by standing on it'
Bosses at DHL warehouse in Swindon have ordered a new squat toilet
Eastern European workers are said to have broken the traditional loo
A warehouse in Swindon has installed a 'hole-in-the-ground' toilet to cater for foreign workers, according to reports.
Employees from eastern Europe apparently prefer squatting while using the loo, prompting managers to order a new toilet to match their requirements.
Bosses at the DHL warehouse are also said to be infuriated after workers broke the traditional loo seat by squatting on it.

The answer for the DHL bosses fire them, but they won't.
This is what  infuriates me:

Some medics believe that squatting while going to the toilet is a more 'natural' position, and could protect against disease.

Rubbish

Don't like them but you do get used to them.
I'd rather that then find no paper Wink

Re: Foreign workers kept breaking the loo

I went to a show at the theatre on Anglia Ruskin University campus in Cambridge.  There were pictorial signs on the back of the toilet door showing the correct and incorrect methods of using it...   Smiley

Similar notices on the doors in the toilets at Sussex University campus.

They won't do that because they work hard and don't complain.

Re: Foreign workers kept breaking the loo

I was in a urinal in France many years ago when a woman came in and stood next to the gent by my side and started having a chat with him - I think they were husband/wife.
Threw me a bit till I found out it was unisex! Actually, still threw me Wink

Because when you try to read a newspaper while squatting you fall off the loo.

Re: Foreign workers kept breaking the loo

European-style squat toilets are common in the Far East too.
Especially in non- tourist areas.
We went to one high class (and expensive) Restaurant in Hong Kong, a family party of 12 people, and I had need to go to the loo, before we ate.
What was presented to me was absolutely disgusting.
A squat loo, where the floor and walls were absolutely plastered with human waste !!
Needless to say, we exited the Restaurant very quickly.
