Force9 Forum Is Gone!

I was wanting to do some research I am a old Force9 customer.  I can not get the info from the PlusNet site, it has the PlusNet Forum only, not the Force9 Forum even wen I Login with my Force9 Username and Password.
I know that PlusNet will be moving the old Forums to the Community Site, but knowing PlusNet this mite take 5 years, so watt I am asking is if PlusNet will make the Force9 Forum available from the PlusNet site.  Wink

Re: Force9 Forum Is Gone!

It does seem somewhat strange to shut down the old portals before the forum posts have been moved across. A slight lack of joined up thinking!

Be assured this isn't a lack of 'joined up thinking' as you say, rather that it's taken much longer than expected to be able to move the old forum posts to the new 'community' forum.  We had a fixed date for integrating the portals into one PlusNet website - I'm afraid we weren't in a position to hold back on that because we hadn't yet moved the archived forum posts across.  I'll find out what the hold up is and make sure you get an update this week.

Re: Force9 Forum Is Gone!

I would suggest that if the delay is going to be much longer you look at a way to give access to the old F9 & F-O forums via the Plusnet portal. Many of the other vISPs users were not happy about 'losing' their brand - this strikes me as just rubbing their noses in it!

I promised an update but I have to set expectations realistically.  There is a huge number of posts and a huge quantity of data to be transferred - and it's not just a matter of copy and paste.  We've not been able to prioritise this work up to now, however I will ensure we have a plan for delivery on this as soon as possible.

Re: Force9 Forum Is Gone!

We're testing one part of it on Wednesday/Thursday. We may have run in to something else we need to consider yesterday (shouldn't take long to consider) though, so we still can't commit to a date Sad

Re: Force9 Forum Is Gone!

It's quite clear to me that in this case Force 9 users are considered second class citizens - Plusnet users can see their own posts on the old forums and F9 can't.
If there had been only a small delay with making the old posts available after killing the F9 portal it would have been acceptable - but it's now gone on far too long!

Re: Force9 Forum Is Gone!

Names on the Force 9 forum were our usernames so how will they be linked up with this forum?
I would prefer it if mine was aligned with this (Plusnet) one for continuity.

Re: Force9 Forum Is Gone!

The initial problem I can see with that idea is that not all people who posted on the old forums will have created an account on here.

Your post count will reflect the sum of the posts made on the other boards, plus he posts made here.

Cool - that should see Peter return to his rightful position!
