I think it's well worth a viewing, I watched it a couple of weeks ago.

It's one of the few films where you know the outcome but still feel the suspense and root for all involved.

Re: Fly me to the moon.....Again... Apollo 13 film

Indeed, one of my favourite films.
Another on a loosely similar theme: Space Cowboys. What a great cast: Clint Eastwood (who also directed it) Tommy Lee Jones, Donald Sutherland, James Garner, William Devane, James Cromwell and many other Hollywood stalwarts all in the same movie.
Ok the plot is a bit suspect (but is it really?) but a tour-de-force of acting skills without the maddening 2 second scene bites for the concentration challenged so prevalent these days.
However, most reviewers only give it three stars.
Experience; is something you gain, just after you needed it most.

When faced with two choices, simply toss a coin. It works not because it settles the question for you. But because in that brief moment while the coin is in the air. You suddenly know what you are hoping for.

Re: Fly me to the moon.....Again... Apollo 13 film

Films often exaggerate the plot to enhance the tension, but with Apollo 13 that wasn't needed.
The end where they were minutes overdue from the communications blackout to the point where everyone was fearing the worst and then appeared within sight of the recovery fleet was pure Hollywood script at it's most dramatic - except that was what actually happened!

Apollo 13; directed by the brilliant Ron Howard. The very same Ron Howard who played Ritchie in Happy Days.
