First Direct Bank Fantastic Customer Service.

A large van turned up this morning.......
Hmmmm, I'm not expecting any deliveries.
A very large and heavy Hamper Box...
Anyway, my correct name & address were on the label, and the code STY
Which according to the driver, identifies the sender as... Say Thank You.
No mention of First Direct.
Warning signs on the box..... "Careful, Contains Glass"
Intrigued, I carefully opened the Hamper.
It was a Thank You Hamper from First Direct !
Pic below...

The reason FD sent me the Hamper, I raised a query with them a while back, pointing out  a Systems / Software problem within their Bank.
They investigated, which took a while, and today confirmed they are instigating changes.
With apologies for the delay.
I have 6 months if I wish to complain !!
What do you think !!
I have always had really excellent service from First Direct.
I'm not going to un-package the contents for a while, they are beautifully presented.
Also, a nice Thank You Card from First Direct.

Re: First Direct Bank Fantastic Customer Service.

What a really nice thing to do. Even getting a "Thank You" card from a Company says at minimum they give you thought and consideration when sending it, your hamper is a serious bonus.
I renewed my EV Digital Certificate with DigiCert last week and as part of the process they wanted "How did we do" feedback, so I sent them a single line email extolling their virtues and got a DigiCert T-Shirt and Card in the post from the U.S. the other day, just to say thanks.

Re: First Direct Bank Fantastic Customer Service.

I'd complain... the hamper isn't big enough  Cheesy
On a serious note.. how is it that i've been pointing out software glitches to yahoo for years and they never do this?
Same for my bank.. i've pointed out many times the bug that makes a direct debit / standing order go out when there is no money in the account (consequently causing bounce charges).. they never seem to be interested in that or fix it  Huh
I need a new signature... i'm bored of the old one!

Re: First Direct Bank Fantastic Customer Service.

I can sell you a share in tonight's winning lottery ticket. Only £5 in advance for a 50% share of prize money. Results not guaranteed.
Now Zen, but a +Net residue.

I will probably wait until Christmas to open the contents.
I also won a Christmas Hamper a few years back, whilst working for Granada News...
There was the annual Christmas Party, which I couldn't attend for some reason, and when I returned to Granada in the New Year, all the Newsroom Staff were congratulating me !!
I had won the Hamper at the Party, and I wasn't even there !!
Another recent Thank You, from Apple...

Re: First Direct Bank Fantastic Customer Service.

@Anonymous Worked for FD for 15 years so your experience does not suprise me. Retired six years ago and although thing as chaned over the 15 years I was their ( HSBC started getting more involved and making profit became more important) customer sevice was always very important. Just over 12 months ago my wife opened a credit card with them and because we have been with them so long she was offered free tickets to see a free concert at The FD Arena in their private box. Went to see Brian Adams....Great!Thumbs_Up

Re: First Direct Bank Fantastic Customer Service.

We've been with FD for 12 years now, always excellent service, from their UK based call centres (Leeds & Glasgow)

I like the mix of online, telephone, post & text contacts.

Previously we were with Barclays, but when they shipped CS to India, we gave up having to spell English place names, difficulty in accents, having to repeat in both directions, etc........

They lost some very large accounts.

FD have never put a foot wrong, and all the staff are extremely well trained, knowledgeable & personable.

24 hour telephone banking, calls always answered within a couple of rings.

Their latest webpage update needs some more work, for Apple mac OSX, just a bit of tweaking.

Having some excellent chats with FD Digital Services.

Nice to know as a customer I am appreciated.

Re: First Direct Bank Fantastic Customer Service.

@Anonymous  Just one example of FD customer service that FD were very proud of: A customer from I think from London rang up one night and said she was stuck in leeds station. She had lost her cards and needed some money to buy a rail ticket home, could we help. The cs op asked her if she would allow him to transfer money from her account to his and he would withdraw the money from the office ATM and meet her at the station. The customer agreed and the money was duly delivered and the customer got home ok.. Thats not bad service!!!!Smiley
