Re: Firefox 4 is out

@Oldjim, Whatever problems I was having with FF4 (and in fairness most of them were self-inflicted) my auto login worked perfectly.
But I would like to re-arrange the toolbar icons as I had them though (in FF3.61)  "customise" doesn't allow rearrangement, nor does it show all the icons in use.

Ok got that one as well. Was trying to move the icons around the toolbar by dragging which didn't work.
In "customise" drag the icon(s) back to the customise window, then drag them back to the toolbar where you want them.

Petlew considers giving up computers altogether.

Re: Firefox 4 is out

Beware FireFox 4 crashes Nvidia drivers. Disable hardware acceleration in the options/settings menu to prevent this till they fix this.

Re: Firefox 4 is out

There was an update to Nvidia earlier in the week.  This is one of the suggestions to solve the problem.

Hasn't crashed my NVidia drivers either, but then I'm on Linux.

Re: Firefox 4 is out

I didn't have any crashes with FF4 but thanks for prompting me to check for NVidia updates. A new driver seems to be what I needed to get IE9 not to crash.

Gary, ref: posts 26 and 27.
I can confirm its works very well and, retains all your existing settings and content...but re-arrange your icons for you see post 34 or 35 I think.

What don't you like about It? If Its appearance we can help you with that, Running an old browser Is not great security, If Its appearance then all the browsers of today are looking somewhat Identical, This Is where customization comes In.

Re: Firefox 4 is out

Well just installed it, found a LOT of my extensions don't work - things like snixper that I use all the time. Tried the "add on compatability addon" and it promptly crashed FF4!  Angry
Restart in safemode (firefox -safe-mode) and disabled ALL extensions then start to enable them again one at a time.
But until snixper is working I think I will give it a miss.  Sad
