Finally gave in and looked it up

Okay time to 'fess up. I just Googled SWMBO to find the meaning.
My favourite is in relation to buying goods/services TANSTAAFL
Now Zen, but a +Net residue.

Shouldn't that be TINSTAAFL (unless you're a 'yank' or a 'yokel' [absolutely no racial slur intended here]).  Lips are sealed

Makes sense (just removing the superfluous 'negative that makes a double..').

By the way there IS such a thing - I bought a multipack of branded crisps (bought because they were of offer at the supermarket) and I noticed there was a 'one in six chance' of being a winning pack - enter the code online for a chance to 'win' a 'FREE LUNCH voucher so even if TNSTAAFL I now have a voucher for one!

I believe it was first quoted by Larry Niven, who is American, so TANSTAAFL it is. (If he wasn't the first he was the first I ever heard of).
As to SWMBO my favourite saying by Rumpole of the Bailey. Much better than "Her indoors".
