File format converter

I’ve recently bought a HTC Windows Phone 8S phone and have been trying to put my music collection on to it as the sound quality via its Beat’s Audio facility is superb. My collection has, in the main, been ripped from CD’s using a mixture of iTunes, WMP, Zune etc and some have unusual file formats (m4a from memory but not at home at the minute so I can’t check). When I copy the files to my phone sd card these files cannot be found on the phone. When I convert them to mp3 files, however, I can find and play them. I used Media Monkey to convert the files but find it a bit slow and not too intuitive. Hoping you can suggest other file convertors to do this for me
Thanks in advance

Re: File format converter

Although I have not used the option myself have you tried batch processing with Audacity?

Not tried it but.......

Although this one

Might work for you, as it says it does "batch conversion"..

Re: File format converter

You would be better to re-rip the CDs and encode freshly to mp3 (if you must use that codec), otherwise you're transcoding, which is a bit like taking a photocopy of a photocopy.
