Favourite Kitchen Gadgets ?

Having always had lots of kitchen gadgets (not much work surface left)  , the newest edition to the kitchen is a Morphy Richards Saute and Soup Maker , it makes fabulous soup in 21 mins .
I would say the top three gadgets at the moment are
1. Halogen Oven ( great for when you don't need the big oven on)
2. Nutribullet
3. Soup Maker
What are others favourite kitchen gadgets ?
Regards
Mike

Re: Favourite Kitchen Gadgets ?

Potato peeler - fantastic for removing apple skins and what with my missus always using a knife for the potatos, i really missed them. I'm now glad to say we've invested a whopping £2 in a peeler (she still don't use it though lol).
I really miss an egg slicer.. can you believe dunelm mill don't sell them?  Crazy
I need a new signature... i'm bored of the old one!

Re: Favourite Kitchen Gadgets ?

I must agree with 7up, a decent spud peeler is well worth having.
Another item I've had for a while now is a 'magic' colour changing 'egg timer', like these ones: http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=egg+timer+colour+change&tag=googhydr-21&index=aps&hvadid... excellent device.

I did a Google image search on that..... but the best I could do was  ( ahem... )... a link to the Daily Mail    Shocked

Unfortunately, it refers to a 20 year old German dishwasher  Cheesy  Grin Grin

Re: Favourite Kitchen Gadgets ?

Wall mounted top quality hand coffee grinder.  Followed by bread maker, except that lives at the bottom of the stairs (a) to save room in the kitchen and (b) to spread smell over the house.

Battery powered can opener.
A really nice heavy duty wall mounted hand one is much more satisfying.

You'll find it next to the pile of black bin bags which happen to have all your other stuff in them!
P.S. They're out the front on the lawn!

Re: Favourite Kitchen Gadgets ?

Mini oven, halogen oven, bread maker. (hardly ever use the main oven any more.)
I use my peeler all the time but SHMBO prefers a small pairing knife.
Decent set of knifes - mind you I only seem to use a couple of them.

A wrench for removing a car's oil filter.
Use it almost every day to get tight lids and bottle tops off.

Nearly forgot my 70+ year old electric waffle maker.
I was eating, and still am, perfect waffles before most people even knew what they were.
