Facebook reactivated!

Just received an email regarding a Facebook account being reactivated. Seems normal as email address me by full fisrt/surname and it is an email address I have used in the past just not for Facebook although I did have a Facebook account for about a year but closed it back in 2010!

All the links (hovering the mouse over them) go to https://www dot facebook dot com/<some page> so would seem OK. I have checked the link characters in case a zero has been used instead of an 'O' etc.

Typing Facebook.com into a browser directly then searching for that email address gives nothing and there is no way I will click any links in the email so, my question is this: Obviously some sort of scam but how can it work if the links go to https://www dot facebook.com/<some page> unless Facebook has been hacked?

Edit: Made links unclickable.

Re: Facebook reactivated!

I will let you know if it happens to mine. I made one when it first came about then deactivated it.

Re: Facebook reactivated!

To be on the safe side, I would assume that this is some sort of scam. Is the email actually from facebook?

@Champnet

As I said in the OP the email address displayed in the email was not the one I used for Facebook.
