Eyjafjallajökull volcano - latest

Certainly enterprise with a difference :
Iceland volcano ash for sale online
Brits wanting a souvenir of the volcanic ash cloud of doom that brought UK air travel to a halt
can pick up a 160g jar of the stuff for around £75 on the internet.

If Eyjafjallajökull keeps up as it is at the moment we might be able to collect it free for ourselves.
If you dont mind the source being a Christian radio news channel, there was an excellent interview
last night on TruNews with Dr. Tim Ball.
Dr.Tim Ball is a renowned environmental consultant and former climatology professor at the Univ.
of Winnipeg
Last night he discussed the history of the Eyjafjallajokul volcano.
He also spoke of other large volcanos in the past....  their consequences on the climate  on the
food chain & how they even sparked revolution.
You can access the interview here :

or, click on the direct MP3 link here :

This was certainly an interview worth listening.
It is very easy for any of us to think:  `that volcano does not affect me, I am not travelling`
However, and when we know how the volcano Tombora did in fact cause what they now
term :`a year without summer`   - causing massive crop failure & starvation, then it does
give us enough to think about.
Dr. Tim Ball does mention Tombora and the consequences it brought.

Thats one of the best webcams for the volcano Ive seen.
I did have another 2 links (Icelandic websites) but I couldnt get either of them to
work, so seemed a waste of time posting them.
Below is a February 2010 article - not about the volcano but rather about how the
Icelandic people celebrate ASH Wednesday!  (no joke!)
Ash Wednesday in Iceland

Since Eyjafjallajökull exploded its been followed by Ash Thursday...  Ash Friday etc    Grin
