Eurovison - UK's hopes?

For the first time I watched the semi-finals but wish I hadn't as that has spoilt it for the final (nothing new to wait for).
I think UK has a good chance but will probably be scuppered once again by the block voting.
I'd like Ukraine to do well as my wife is Ukrainian but don't think the song is strong enough.
Germany could win again with Lena but Ireland hasn't a chance with Deadwood - I get the feeling they just can't afford to host it next year.
Other songs I like are from Austria, Bosnia, Estonia and Switzerland.
Good luck UK!!! Cool

If it goes the same way as the world Cup the result would have been decided last night Undecided Undecided

Ireland has won Eurovision more than any other country but doubt they want the expense of putting on another final.

Re: Eurovison - UK's hopes?

And UK has hosted it more times than any other country.
Linking this thread with the Do You Believe Thread thread; Eurovision has more meaning for me since 2004. Back then I first started chatting with my soon-to-be wife who was in Ukraine. After going through an acrimonious divorce with the ex I had no idea what the future was to hold. Then Ukraine won and it was like an omen for me  Cool

Re: Eurovison - UK's hopes?

If the evidence of the first 8 or 9 "songs" is to go by, it should immediately be renamed the Eurovision Mime Contest!!
Must be something better on another channel...

Have to agree with you there.  I've got it on in the background and so far haven't heard one song that's worth a vote Sad Sad

Re: Eurovison - UK's hopes?

Embarrassed
How embarrassing, beaten by Deadwood.
Still, we were at the top for a very brief spell Grin
I did enjoy some songs and revel in the pointlessness of it all.
Once we were out of it would have liked Ukraine to win Cool
