Essex Man crashes in Golf course trees


Any of you guys from Essex know this man !.
Landed on one of our golf courses ! - and is lucky to survive !

Don't know him but he's certainly a lucky individual.  I wonder why he didn't land earlier to refuel, his gauge must have shown he was low.

he was diverted because of bad weather and that used up his fuel.  he'd tried a landing at a local airport, but winds prevented a successful landing.  pancaking into trees, at that point, seemed to be the best option and was.

still very bad airmanship though - you should plan for such events - if Dundee couldn't take him, just the one East West runway, then in an emergency - RAF Leuchars would have readily taken him just a few minutes flying time away.
