Re: Election Result - your comments please !

Must confess I like sprouts, trouble is they can effect the air quality for others due to after affects of consuming them.

Always thought the level of bitterness was linked to when they were picked, the colder it was the less bitter they were.

As for the stalks......do they not use these to make walking sticks ?

Eating greens is good for you......not so good for others.

They have been trying to breed sweeter Brussels sprouts for decades - this is an article from 2013 about sweeter taste.

Re: Election Result - your comments please !

The difference between Sir Lyndsay Doyle and the poison dwarf Bercow was never more apparent than yesterday when he did not allow any aggravating amendments to the Brexit bill - so not only have Remainers lost the election, they have also lost their partisan speaker....

Here is an interesting snippet about the state of the speakers residency after Bercow moved out.

I've not seen any decent sprouts on stalks in any of the supermarkets so far this year, they all seem to be more stalk than sprouts.  I prefer it when they're closely packed on the stalk ...

Well, sprouts-on-stalk mission accomplished.

SWMBO mentioned she'd seen some better ones in the market in another town, so as she and a friend planned on travelling there again today on the bus, and me not trusting her judgment on veg quality (from past experience) I offered to give them a lift.  I took a detour via a branch of Mole Valley Farmers, which somebody I'd bumped into in Morrisons last night had told me were selling some decent ones.  MVF sprouts were acceptable so bought them, Market ones were identical (presumably both grown locally), not quite as good as the ones in the earlier image but far better than the this years spindly supermarket ones.

Not only that, the poison dwarf used to speak through his bottom most of the time.

Like most vegetables, they need to be fresh and not overcooked.  Many children are put off all vegetables for life due to the poor quality of the ones served with school meals.

Well considering all his forecasting hoo-ha and conjured statistics regarding the Peterborough by-election a few months ago ...  Roll_eyes
