Re: Eddie Stobart Dies

Sad news and as you say at such a young age.  His trucks were a credit to the company he gave his name to.  They were always smart and the drivers took a pride in them.

Re: Eddie Stobart Dies

it was Edward Stobart who died
He took the business started by his father Eddie and built it into the best known haulage company in the UK.
Mr Stobart sold the firm to his brother William and business partner Andrew Tinkler in 2004.

Re: Eddie Stobart Dies

I bet he was also called Eddie  Wink
I'd realised that business was named after his father but he really made them a household name.
My personal favourite has always been Norbert Dentressangle as Norberts were rarer at one time.

Re: Eddie Stobart Dies

Rare that you can drive on the motorway for more than an hour without sighting one of his trucks.
Really sad news....He made many positive changes to the Truck Driving world.

Re: Eddie Stobart Dies

@nadger, he was also called Eddie.  There was a documentary on him on TV and that was the form of address.
As gleneagles said he made a very positive influence on the trucking world
