Ducks pose mortal peril to intruders.

In line with the duck bias of this forum I thought I should highlight that ducks have their uses.

Now Zen, but a +Net residue.

Of course ducks have their uses...what else would you use orange sauce for.

A float tip is pleasing in its appearance and even more pleasing in its disappearance.

@AlaricAdair Er! What duck bias would that be then?

Disgusting thought that. I've only ever once tried Duck and it was disgusting. No amount of any sauce could ever change that.

Duck ranks right at the bottom with Rabbit.

I need a new signature... i'm bored of the old one!

@AlaricAdair, Aw! go on I dare you, I can see your fingers quivering over the keyboard now, taking on a life of their own...

@7up, I have to say I agree with you. Duck breast is a perennial favourite of the TV chefs. Like you I find it inedible. In fact, I can't find anything palatable about any "game bird" meats, especially in the almost raw state most of them offer it. and those bits of lead-shot in grouse can break your teeth,  And as for pigeon, yuk! pass the sick-bag please.

I've never tried rabbit, but if forced to make a choixe I'd rather eat that than squirrel.

Re: Ducks pose mortal peril to intruders.

Not too much meat on a rabbit, roast with rosemary. Tastes okay, as long as you remember to drain the rabbit's bladder after killing it. If you don't the meat will spoil quite quickly. The most difficult part is avoiding the glare of your kids as they they miss their pet Bunnikins. It seems not even rabbit fur slippers will mollify them.

Re: Ducks pose mortal peril to intruders.

SWMBO cooked duck for me one New Year's Day. It was revolting. I didn't like the taste or texture and vowed never to eat it again.

Rabbit, like a lot of meat, tastes like chicken - especially if you're told that it is chicken:rolleyes:

Last time I was in Ukraine we went to SWMBO's dad's farm. There was a rabbit in the garden which I stroked. You know what's coming... I was told dinner was chicken until after when I informed it was the rabbit. I must say, I did enjoy it:embarrassed:

The fresh eggs off the farm were lovely as were the real chickens.

Next time you pass a field filled with cows, remember them when you have a steak, all comes from somewhere, but there's some people that just don't want to admit it...
