Downloading DVD's to an ipod

Has anyone had any experience of using Handbrake to put DVD's onto an ipod? It appears to be a free download; anyone used it and knows its safe?
Handbrake
Also, and entirely separate, how do you get the bloomin’ hyperlink button to work so that ‘http://handbrake.fr/’ would appear as ‘Handbrake’ but still as a link to their website?

Yep, I've used Handbrake a fair few times – excellent piece of software. Someone involved in the development of the Windows version is also a user of Usertools IRC (link in my signature below), if you want to ask him any questions directly – he goes by the nickname of s55/sr55/Scott normally.

Used handbrake on my Linux system no problems, you might also look at super media converter here used to use it when I still used M$ OS's.
NB never used either to convert to ipod so YMMV.

Yep, Handbrake is a good tool for producing files that will reliably play on an iPod Touch or iPhone.
