makes you wonder if there reticence to put the national grid into underground tunnels isn't down to this sort of thing, would be terrible if bits of the countryside starting erupting due to inclement weather ......

Makes me wonder,. what the heckles are we paying for,
It is bad enough that some daft si & so, will manually build a bomb, but under our pavements, that could be avoided it these power companies, would learn to stop being so darn greedy, & put some thought into preventing this on a permanent scale

Re: Don't step on the Cracks, and avoid Manhole Covers.

what you mean like putting the lines inside a  pottery clay or ceramic pipe instead of just laying them in a bit of dirt under the road ? that would cost them millions and reduce those billions of pounds a year profit to hundreds of millions ....the shareholders wouldn't stand for such a low return on there portfolio....

Re: Don't step on the Cracks, and avoid Manhole Covers.

just chuck an extra zero in there and it would at least be meaningful so far there just nominating the money it will take to get planning consent through the legal stages to put in the correct framework for protecting underground cables /pipes  not  the cost of any such work ......
