Canal & River Trust , say... feed them cabbage  instead..

Nothing in that DM link I didn't know, @shutter, but thanks for posting it -  I'm sure there are a lot of people who are unaware, as I have observed on my walks along rivers.

It would be weird (and funnyCheesy) if this thread attracted as much interest/response as the epic one you linked to.

I think I'll stick to the odd crust as what the ducks miss the sea gulls and mullet soon polish off.

As for greenery the swans and ducks much prefer the occasional bag of grass clippings to tough stinky old cabbage.
