@artmo - nice one  Cheesy
I remember in the 70s, in Canada, the " Bear in the Air" with lines on the road so that speeds could be measured from a plane.
Perhaps in your video they were speeding through an indian reservation  Wink

Re: Don't Speed in Georgia

He have spots painted on our roads which can be by police helicopters. For example you can see the spots painted on the road at the start and end of this small Google route - they are half a mile apart.

I've also seen those spots in a few places but I've never seen any fuzz copter nearby.

Re: Don't Speed in Georgia

well they do patrol two roads in Essex, one near Dunmow and the other further south,  From the various TV programs, they dont need those spots on the road.

They did a motorcyclist on the A131, near Great Leighs just over a year ago 158 MPH

Re: Don't Speed in Georgia

Seem to recall one motorcyclist who took a video of himself doing a similar speed.
When stopped by the police they took the video and used it in court to prosecute him !!

Re: Don't Speed in Georgia

Good!
I have nothing against genuine motocyclists who obey the rule of the road but I've every one of them I've come across has been very arrogant and aggressive on the road. They're the first to complain if you pull out of a junction in front of them yet when they're driving in excess of 100mph and come flying round that bend you've got no chance of seeing them anyway. Do they ever think about it like that? No, it's always the car drivers fault. Years ago I had a mate who admitted doing the very same thing - coming round a bend so fast he had no chance of avoiding a car that had just pulled out.. spent a week in a coma for it and woke up to a ban  Roll eyes
I'm always very careful around motorcyclists and cyclists yet motorcyclists are always pushy on the roads. I've only ever had 2 behind me that haven't tried to force their way past and been quite happy to sit behind me obeying the speed limit. I have respect for motorcyclists like that.
I've known a lot of them over the years and every single one has had a A&E visit caused by a serious accident. I personally think they're all bonkers riding their machines at dangerous speeds. At least in a car you've got a bit of protection.

Re: Don't Speed in Georgia

We have a very pretty village in Essex, Finchingfield, every week end the Motorcycle of the big variety collect on the green, the roads away from the village have a high fatality rate.  That is the area the Helicopter keeps an eye open

they normally group up on the green top right

Re: Don't Speed in Georgia

Close to me in Essex the Police patrol the B184 at weekends with their helicopter.  Also part of the A414 is signed to indicate helicopter patrols but I've not seen it around on that road.

It's square or a pentagon or a hexagon - but it's definitely not round!!
