Does anyone read i

I ask because I wasn't aware of it until I saw this http://www.pressgazette.co.uk/story.asp?sectioncode=1&storycode=49875&c=1 with this summary of circulation and % change and combining the Independent and i it's the only national daily to show a net increase.

Re: Does anyone read i

I only read news online these days, either through their actual sites, or twitter feeds.

The only time I read a paper is when I'm flying and that's free as I board the aircraft.
If the poor level of reporting and English is the same printed as it is online I certainly don't want to pay for it Shocked

That would remove a number of titles from the list  Roll eyes
Most of the nationals are full of celeb pap, political bias and know nothing of the land beyond Watford. Consequently, I've not purchased a paper for years.

I thought printed newspapers had become extinct  particularly when you were no longer allowed to wrap your chips in them Wink

Re: Does anyone read i

I rarely read a real newspaper. The SO often buys the local rag and I'll have a quick glimpse through it but I don't buy them. I do grab a metro sometimes (free) from the railway station but again I skim read it for interesting titles / articles and then dispose of it if there is nothing of interest to me.
I read most of the news online now but as Mav says, many of those sites don't use good grammer. The BBC are very good at starting a quote with a double quote and forgetting to use the ending double quote. When I want to quote something, I put in the two quote marks first, press the left arrow key to go back between them and then start typing. Surely the Beeb are capable of creating a 2-3 day training course to show their staff how to do that?

I read most news online [usually BBC or Telegraph] but get the i every so often - quite often on a Saturday.  I like the paper as like they say it is just news so you can read it easily.

Re: Does anyone read i

I was never impressed with the i.  From memory it is a cheap paper to buy.
It started to be offered at my club until a number of us complained.  I think it was the price that attracted the purchase Wink
Also when I was in hospital some months ago they had started to hand out the i which I was not happy with.  i am in hospital again in a few weeks and hope they have stopped this habit Wink

Why would you complain in your club - I assume it was in addition to other papers not instead of

Re: Does anyone read i

They buy a set number of papers a day so we were able to get a larger selection of other papers once the i was discontinued.  It was never read and was still in its original condition when thrown away at night.

Re: Does anyone read i

I used to read the Times newspaper when it used to report the news, but it is so dumbed down nowadays I rarely buy it.
