Doctor, Who?

So, Peter Capaldi's first series as The Doctor is over, bar the Christmas one, and I thoroughly enjoyed it Smiley
The stories were well written, acted and directed and the arcs not too convoluted or long. I felt Capaldi brought along a much-needed sense of respect for the character as well as a less manic approach than Matt Smith who I never really took to. The Doctor seemed darker but not without a 'human' quality as well as a sense of humour. Perhaps it was his age but I felt his tenure is very reminiscent of the early Doctors particularly Troughton and Baker.
For me the vest episode of the series was Dark Water and I was a little disappointed with yesterday's finale.
I liked the fact that Clara had more to say and do and was a bigger integral part of the Doctor and they worked well together.
Missy was a surprise but I won't give spoilers Wink
On incidental matters: I don't like the new opening titles or music. The TARDIS looks like a toy being thrown around and too many tubular bells for my liking!
What are other's views of Capaldi and the last series?

Re: Doctor, Who?

I still prefer the old doctors.
Patrick Troughton is just about to appear on TV in a few minutes in Tomb of the Cybermen.
Unlike the line dancing shiny new cybermen I thought these were far more creepy.

They've certainly invested in GCI since the early days.

Can we make that permanent?  Wink I think the bloke is creepy if i'm honest. I used to think Matt Smith was a bit odd looking but at least he gave it a happy cheerful character that I actually found to be exciting. David Tennant wasn't bad either.. not as good as Smith but at least on the right lines.
I need a new signature... i'm bored of the old one!

William Hartnell is the only Doctor Who, the rest are mere approximations.
