Do these represent Dorset

As a Dorset resident am I the only one who can see no relevance to Dorset in any of the designs we have to choose from for the Dorset flag linky

Re: Do these represent Dorset

Does Dorset, much as I like the county, actually need a flag?
Experience; is something you gain, just after you needed it most.

When faced with two choices, simply toss a coin. It works not because it settles the question for you. But because in that brief moment while the coin is in the air. You suddenly know what you are hoping for.

Pehaps they think they can use a flag to capture the power of the wind and avoid having those expensive wind turbines blotting the landscape.

Is this a vote for his new coat of arms?
Or is it for flags to put on the front of his limo?

Re: Do these represent Dorset

Yeah that really does not suggest to me that this means you are in Dorset. In fact, it's rather like most of the Scandinavian flags - but with really random colour choice.

Start with Devon's flag

Then
'Co-designer Chris Brown explained that the gold colour was taken from the Gold Hill and Gold Cap locations in the county.
He added: "The county council coat of arms is predominantly gold and red and there's lots of other gold references but the one I really like is that it represents the golden and sunny disposition of the folk in Dorset.'

Re: Do these represent Dorset

Essex has a much better flag, the "Swords" do at least mean something in the local history
The flag bears three "seaxes" in silver (the hilts are usually gold) on a field of red - which was the emblem of the ancient Kings of Essex.
