Shipping costs might make it expensive.
Our end-of-lease ones are typically sold for peanuts - 3yr old machines that have been regularly serviced and have very low duty cycles.
It'll be around 12mths before we have more to get rid of - handling and delivery might be interesting (You'd need a van with tail-lift at minimum)

What's the date of that report?  A friend used to run a business buying and refurbing all sorts of machinery and part of the deal was always a thorough wipe of the memories before reselling.  Machines from sensitive sources would usually have the 'hard drive' removed and destroyed.  Any business that doesn't take basic security steps like that shouldn't be in business.

This is very worrying and needs urgent action to prevent further leaks of information.  From the comments by the CEO of Sharp there is already a solution but its not being taken up.

I heard about this on Steve Gibson Security Now some time back.
