Dandruff...it's snowing here

I suffer from dandruff. My doctor tells me everyone has dandruff, but on most people the flakes are so small and infrequent as to be almost unnoticeable. Generally,I control it with shampoo without any problems. However,I went swimming today, and now it is terrible. Must be the chlorine.
Anyone else suffer, and do bald people get dandruff?

Roll eyes The question was do you have it? now we are going to have a thread with a whole host of medical issues and self diagnosis.

Visit lush, they have a range of natural shampoo bars that last ages, wash your hair every day and see how you get on.

head and shoulders keeps mine under control nicely. I'll agree with the doc though, most people seem to suffer with it but like most, shampoo seems to keep it at bay.
I need a new signature... i'm bored of the old one!

Do you know what psoriasis is?
This is what I use but it's probably an overkill for dandruff unless it's severe.

Unfortunately Head and Shoulders is not effective for psoriasis
and psoriasis is where
Quote
Psoriasis is a genetic disorder that affects how skin cells form. Basically, most skin cells take almost a month to grow, live on the surface of your skin and then die. If you have psoriasis, your skin cells repeat this pattern in a matter of two to three days.

Re: Dandruff...it's snowing here

As a teenager I had very bad dandruff until I tried Lenium which worked wonders and it also virtually stopped hair loss
Now I just use Head and Shoulders once a week and I don't have dandruff

Re: Dandruff...it's snowing here

I use Tgel, unfortunately been away for a week and forgot to take it, so used Head& Shoulders. Will look for
Lenium and give that a try.
I did wonder, as the condition worsened after swimming, and as chlorine is alkaline, whether trying a mild acid as a wash (diluted vinegar our some such) would help.
Maybe I'll go bald, then just need the Mr Sheen. Grin

Lenium is no longer marketed - I think it contained concentrated selenium sulphide and it wasn't a shampoo
