Customising a URL...

Can everyone tell me how to customise a link to another page/site etc..
From something like...'try this company, www.plusnet.co.uk'....to 'click here'
Cheers...

<a href="www.plus.net">click here</a>

Read up on the <a> tag for lots of other options

Re: Customising a URL...

Unless it is on this forum when this is the normal code
[url=http://www.plusnet.co.uk/] click here [/url] which gives this click here

Re: Customising a URL...

I thought you were talking about a web page - my reply is HTML. This forum uses BBCODE which is what Jim's example is.

Re: Customising a URL...

If you type in the following

This is Plusnet

Where www.plus.net is the website you want to link to and "This is Plusnet" are the words you want to see this is the result
This is Plusnet
This uses the forum code to do the work rather than trying to use html coding

Re: Customising a URL...

Actually both methods work in the forum, so you can use either <a href> or url tags. Take your pick of,

or
<a href="http://www.plusnet.co.uk/">click here<a>

Re: Customising a URL...

HTML a tags don't work on the forum. This is because the closing < /a> tag is converted into [/url]
<a href="somewhere.com">somewhere</a>
becomes
<a href="somewhere.com">somewhere</a>
and if you miss off the / in the closing a tag you just get
<a href="somewhere.com">somewhere<a>
