Re: Could cash catch on?

It is getting easier and easier for terrorists to bring our world to a grinding halt, no need to target power stations or airports,  just blow up a few data centres and the whole country goes offline and all the cards and phone apps are as useful as a chocolate teapot.  I always carry a reasonable amount of cash - as already discussed it needs no support network and you can get discounts for cash with some people who do not like traceable card transcations...... we need to go back to barter system really.

Re: Could cash catch on?

A lot of data centres tend to be in secure compounds, some even in former cold war-era military bases (which are usually hard as nails to get into), so a terrorist blowing them up would be more of a 'tis but a scratch affair...

But that said, having everything financial placed into electronic means is like putting all your eggs in one basket and driving over a ploughed field in a stiff sports car, they're going to break at somepoint, so always good to have backups and fallback procedures in place, like shiny beads and slips of shiny metal... Unlike eggs in a 2CV and then driving over a ploughed field... or was that a urban myth. Roll eyes

Nope, it's true, and you can wear a top hat while doing so... Grin
