Cost of Pies.

A recent news report was comparing the cost of season tickets for football matches which seem to range from £299 to £2000. Not that I have any interest in that as I have never been to a paid football match in my life but I was astounded to hear that they charged £2.95 for a pie !
Should be included in the price of the ticket ! Smiley

Re: Cost of Pies.

Most of these places rip you off with the admission price then do it again with the catering.  I seem to remember one exception in the football club that has Delia Smith on the board, is it Norwich?  The cost of catering there is cheaper than most of the others.

Re: Cost of Pies.

Most entertainment venues seem to charge extortionate prices for some odd reason. Cinemas are a con too. I don't know how some of the staff sleep at night  Crazy

But they would be cold by the time you got to the match equally you could not eat them in Morrison's prior to reaching the check out so cold again.  Wink
Perhaps there is a way to keep pies warm for a long time but I don't know how ! Wink

Ahhh...I remember pie and peas at the car auctions years ago Cool
I might consider going to some football matches if they paid me £2000 annually.

Re: Cost of Pies.

They all do it.  At Wimbledon this year for the tennis they were charging £7 for a Pimms and a bottle of champagne started at £35 and going up to £75. Sad

Re: Cost of Pies.

Well, as long as its pre-cooked I quite like cold pie, after all cold meat is acceptable with salads etc. so take your own if you don't object.
Would the average football fan know the difference?
Experience; is something you gain, just after you needed it most.

When faced with two choices, simply toss a coin. It works not because it settles the question for you. But because in that brief moment while the coin is in the air. You suddenly know what you are hoping for.

Come on you can do better than that........simply wrap the pie in tin foil and secure it with a bit of wire to the exhaust manifold on your car. ! Wink
