I vaguely recall in previous versions of M$ Word; that when copy/paste was used it was possible to have several different copies and at "paste" would be presented with a list of recent copies to choose from. As I recall it the list would reset to zero on the close down of Word or PC shut down (I don't remember which)
Current versions (this seems to include Open Office as well) seem to only have the option of the one (latest) "copy" to paste. Or am I missing a setting somewhere that will allow a list to appear?

I think it's the Office Clipboard you need - at least that seems to be the case in Office 2007.
On the Home tab, in the Clipboard group click on the Clipboard dialogue box launcher.
Hope that helps.
