Re: Congratulations Roger

Glad to hear that some one else likes a good welly wang and even achieved first place. Was it a loaded welly? Of course photo's of the competition would be good too.
Note to self: Do not throw wellies near a tea service because you never know what it may brew up  Wink Cheesy

Re: Congratulations Roger

More used to throwing cappers rather than regulars and blowed if I can remember the distances but I am sure I never reached 20 metres.

Re: Congratulations Roger

If i'm completely honest, I'd never done it before, I did it cause it was raising money for my daughter's school PTFA, plus my little lad thought it was great fun too!
I never did it with the intention of winning initially, but when my first throw was way short of 20 metres, I was determined to better it.
The local magazine "Solent Life" was sponsoring it too, so despite looking completely and totally dishevelled, they took my photo, which I'm sure will find it's way into their next edition.
Now I'm not saving my blushes, I'll post a link once it's been published.

Re: Congratulations Roger

Indeed congratulations Roger and all for a good cause as well.
Don't think I could through a welly anywhere near that far myself, although I've never tried.  Got frisbees stuck 20ft up a tree before though.

Re: Congratulations Roger

Hmmmm.. I wonder if I got a boomerang and threw it, would I get the same element of success?Huh
Probably not, knowing my luck, it would come back and hit me!

Re: Congratulations Roger

Well done! It does sound like an English past-time though; us Scots would never waste our time throwing things around... Wink
