Compulsory Dress Code for Royal Ascot

Ladies, If you are going to Royal Ascot, be aware of compulsory strict dress code for ladies wishing to enter the "royal enclosure"....  As announced on Radio 2 10.00 news bulletin today.

These rules will be strictly enforced.....
No Bare Midriff
Skirt length to be no higher than 2 inches (50mm) above the knee.
Knickers must be worn, but must not be showing.

Re: Compulsory Dress Code for Royal Ascot

My wife went to ladies day just before she suffered a stroke 2004, had a lovely day, she "won" the trip (limo, champagne, betting money and all trimmings) through the company she was working for at the time. Sadly only backed losers.
Experience; is something you gain, just after you needed it most.

When faced with two choices, simply toss a coin. It works not because it settles the question for you. But because in that brief moment while the coin is in the air. You suddenly know what you are hoping for.

What do the red shoes denote then? Have I been doing some ladies a disservice all these years?

I'm sorely tempted to continue that line to it's inevitable conclusion but not wishing to give offence I won't Lips are sealed

The old saying from hereabouts was in fact.
Red hat - no drawers.

Re: Compulsory Dress Code for Royal Ascot

T'was "red shoes no knickers" about these parts.
Perhaps its both?
Dangerous to conduct a survey though I reckon - might have to leave it to the imagination.

Re: Compulsory Dress Code for Royal Ascot

When I've been to Royal Ascot in the past they have had a somewhat elderly group of stewards who are responsible for discipline.  Having to check a ladies dress would be enough to cause some of them to have a heart attack Grin Grin

Mod; smiley edited out, as I couldn't see a suitable way to shorten it.
@ Strat, I suppose I should have seen that one coming, no offence taken...

FWIW it's perfectly acceptable to quote whole posts like that when they were from earlier on in the thread.
