Collective Nouns

This morning I have seen at one location 3 Openreach vans parked around a roadside box, with engineers clustered under a polythene tent. Less than half a mile away there were 2 more vans with 4 engineers all looking into a hole in the pavement.

Being an inquisitive sort I started to wonder what the collective noun for such a cluster of Openreach engineers might be.

Re: Collective Nouns

That is a good one. I thought it might be a skive.

Re: Collective Nouns

We have a couple of boxes at the end of the road and hardly a week goes by without one or two openreach vans parked next to them with someone fiddling around inside the boxes.

Causes me a degree of anxiety because my broadband works fine and I want it to stay that way, just one wire gets accidently disconnected and then I will be joining the long list of customers who often wait ages to get problems fixed.

Perhaps I should weld those doors closed ?

Re: Collective Nouns

Rather than weld the doors shut, try welding them in the open position. That will cause some head scratching.

Re: Collective Nouns

You are on the right lines Mav..... Wink

For a cabinet of engineers would we need at least twenty one of them as they do in government but then again, a council of engineers does not quite work either!
