Colder Days, Colder Nights.

It has been getting colder during the night recently outside.
A short walk around in the Moonlight now needs a Fleece.
I've had the Central Heating on low for 30 minutes early, around 4:30am, for a few days now, to take the morning chill out of the air.
Experimenting with the best times.
I did over-ride yesterday, Monday, it was chilly after a spell of rain in the afternoon, and after being outside for a while.
Even had the Heated Car seats on for a few minutes !

I've just heard quiet CH expansion noises at 1:45am, I must have forgotten to reset the timer, it is an indication of a cooler night, currently 10ºC outside atm
However, in my "Command Centre" !! it is a balmy 25ºC, so not noticed in here.

Daytime, Hat & Gloves needed for the early part of the day.
Also in our local Tesco, even away from the chiller cabinets !

Snow is forecast for Scotland, with low temperatures over the local Peaks here later on this week, perhaps it's started early.

Now where's that DM article ?
Don't worry, I'm not going to post one, we all know it's getting colder.

Now then, where you are, what's it like, and what are you doing to keep warm !!
The usual caveats in your responses, nothing too naughty.

PCUK.... SHUP UP!  Cheesy
Did you have to remind us all that winter is creeping up on us?  Wink
Seriously summer isn't what it used to be is it. I remember years ago it would stretch all the way to the end of September. Now we're lucky to get a couple of whole weeks with sunshine.
To think.. the foreigners still can't understand why we're obsessed with the weather?  Crazy
I need a new signature... i'm bored of the old one!

BBC TV News at 6pm, Weather Forecast just before...
Most of the Country can expect temperatures as low as 3ºC tomorrow (Wednesday) morning
I wonder if Jack Frost will make an appearance ?
Looks like Autumn is definitely on its way

I've known it to be colder at the end of August only to get an Indian summer some time in September so don't give up hope just yet Wink

We've been quite lucky since mid May with the weather but I would like a warm sunny birthday in September...fingers crossed.

Re: Colder Days, Colder Nights.

Our trees have been shedding small thin leaves, yellowish seed pods they float down a bit like Sycamore helis.
The main leaves on the trees are not coming off yet, they are still Green, but with a slight tint of Yellow.
We normally travel up to the Lakes Autumn, lovely colours everywhere.
Here tomorrow, I think it will just be White.
Today I cleared the seeds out of the main Birdbath, refilled it with tap water, and two minutes later a large bird was washing itself in the newly clean water.
Neck, one wing, then the other wing... repeated.
Quite relieved the oppressive Hot Weather has gone now....

Re: Colder Days, Colder Nights.

Day out in Buxton Today.
I went prepared with Fleece, Coat, Hat & Gloves, and boy were they necessary.
Nice & Warm, and thankfully the Shops we went into weren't like furnaces.

How do they do it, some men in just shorts & teashirt, but they did look as if they worked outside a lot, a hardy bunch.

Cold, Colder, Coldest....

A brisk north-westerly wind has drawn cold Arctic air across the country over the past week.
The unseasonably chilly readings are well below the overnight August average of 11ºC
