Cold Caller stung

Here's a BBC report on a cold caller who struck back against a PPI claim line. I must reinstate my call recording system.
Now Zen, but a +Net residue.

Excellent.  It's about time someone stood up to these people.

When you are cold called, just tell them you will be charging them £10 a minute..
And that the call is being recorded.

Like it a lot  Cheesy
On certain Freesat channels it seems that 50% of advertising is for ppi claims companies.
As they probably get 25%/30% of all the money they get back it's a business worth a few billion.

Re: Cold Caller stung

The PPI companies are the latest to pester us.  I hope that the regulator will jump on this firm that has been identified and impose a high fine.  May stop others from attempting the same.

Re: Cold Caller stung

The other lot are these "solicitors" (unfortunate term) who badger people to submit injury claims on a no-fee basis. Someone has to pay for it, presumably us insurance policy owners. The calls that irritate me are clearly computer generated, often daily at set times, with no caller displayed numbers (withheld) and, apparently, no one there. I am on caller preference service but they do not seem to be able to block such calls. All very sad these days.

I assume this is because they originate from abroad.
