Close encounters of er! what kind?

Across unimaginable aeons of time and distance, in the galaxy Charon 6, an aggressive alien life form were listening for signals returned from a battle force dispatched in suspended animation many hundreds of Earth years before, their mission; to assess the resistance that maybe expected to the attempted extermination of the indigenous inhabitants of the minor planet known as Earth.
Primary in the reconnaissance missions, was to monitor any radio or television broadcasts, for any signs of useful information that might assist them in their forthcoming assault.
The aliens were able to tune into BBC 1 at 17:35 on a recent Saturday evening. When the signal was unscrambled, they saw a strange animal life form dressed in curious metallic covering, speaking a language so unintelligible that their computer banks failed completely to decipher it.
What did the advance force report back to their masters at Charon 6?
Experience; is something you gain, just after you needed it most.

When faced with two choices, simply toss a coin. It works not because it settles the question for you. But because in that brief moment while the coin is in the air. You suddenly know what you are hoping for.

Ah! pierre, there was me thinking that "Hole in the wall" was the worst programme on television, but I bow to your observance.

Any wonder that kids leave school with little or no education when garbage such as I'm a has-been trying to jump start my career and hole in the wall passes for entertainment these days.
