Christmas songs

Was watching a C5 program last night regarding the best Christmas songs. I do think we were spoilt with some of the best songs in the 70'S; Slade, Wizard, Mud, John Lennon & Yoko Ono to name a few, although the 80's produced Band Aid, The Pogues.

So, what are your top 5 favourite Christmas Songs?

Here's mine (not necessarily in order);

Slade - Merry Xmas Everybody
Bing Crosy - White Christmas

The Pogues - Fairytale Of New York
Greg Lake - I Believe In Father Christmas

John Lennon & Yoko Ono - Happy Xmas War Is Over

Close are:

Bing Crosby/David Bowie - Little Drummer Boy/Peace On Earth

Jonah Lewis - Stop The Cavalry

Re: Christmas songs

I agree with @rongtw & @Mav - apart from (sorry Mav) the Lennon/Ono one - just never liked it.

Re: Christmas songs

I Believe in Father Christmas      Greg Lake

Perfectly captures the loss of innocence and wonder as we grow up.

2000 Miles                                  Pretenders

Chrissie Hynde singing!

In Dulce Jubilo                            Mike Oldfield

Love any tune given the Oldfield treatment.

Fairytale of New York                 Pogues with Kirsty McColl

Shane and Kirsty giving it all.

Merry Christmas You Suckers    Paddy Roberts

Perfect song for cynics everywhere.
