Re: Chilly, Willy Weather

Who'd have thought we would get cold weather in winter?

I must have been really bad in a previous life as this was my 3rd ISP in a row that used lithium.
Now you're stuck with me because my new ISP doesn't run a forum Cheesy

We've just had a practise run in preparation.....

Garlic Bread, Hot Chocolate & French Onion Soup.

We are nicely warm.... and stuffed !!

And the Electric Blanket is nicely warming up our transport to the Land of Nod.

We did a large food shop Friday, so we are well stocked.

Re: Chilly, Willy Weather

Be prepared is my motto.

In running several businesses, I am always planning for the worst case scenario, which is often weather related.

Living in Norfolk several years ago, we would quite regularly be snowed in every Winter, for days, sometimes weeks at a time.

Where we live now, in Derbyshire, we may be in an elevated position, but we are still located in a Valley, so whenever we travel, invariably we need to go up hills, and also often along narrow local roads.

So yes, I do keep an eye on the Weather, but it is only on a local level, unless we have a trip further afield planned.

And of course, weather related planning is taken into account for food purchasing.

Several Weather related apps keep us fully informed.

Since Norfolk, we always have a substantial  stock of essentials, Food, Water, Fuel etc.

Preliminary estimates show, We're getting more snow than you!!!!!

Wu200218.jpg

Of course, from 3 years of experience using that site, such preliminary estimates can change wildly from one hour to the the next, so could be snow, could be rain, who knows, cos the weathermen don't!! :2funny:

Re: Chilly, Willy Weather

From the local Buxton (Derbyshire) Weather website:

Following up on reports about strange happenings over the North Pole "Sudden Stratospheric Warming" , affecting our weather outlook:

I does seem more likely that Britain is about to enter a deep freeze that the Met Office said could unleash “significant snow” and bitterly cold weather across the nation until the start of Spring.

Latest weather models indicate a large mass of cold air barrelling in from the east is expected to smash into England, Scotland and Wales this week.

In the coming days temperatures are forecast to nose dive into the single figures and below freezing overnight in parts as the so-called "Beast from the East" takes charge.

By the end of the week thermometers are forecast to drop well into the minus figures, with harsh winds making it feel like -10C in some regions.

Temperatures are set to remain in the low single figures throughout next week and well into March, according to some forecasters................ we will see!

Not looking good here either for next few days...

Weather for next few days.jpg

Time to put fishing tackle away for a week.

A float tip is pleasing in its appearance and even more pleasing in its disappearance.
