Chester Zoo

Avoid this Bank Holiday Weekend !!
Kids go free this Bank Holiday weekend
Saving around £16 per child (age 3-15)
http://www.chesterzoo.org/footer/terms-and-conditions/promo-code-august2014?utm_campaign=kidsgofree&...
It is an expensive day out for a Family during April to November
Normally £67 for family of four, so saving £27 this weekend (Zoo Discount Maths)
http://www.chesterzoo.org/plan-your-visit/admission-and-tickets
But, it is a nice place to visit... occasionally.
However, quite often, some animals are not available to be seen.
Take your own Food & Drink, queues can be horrendous at outlets.
And expensive !

Re: Chester Zoo

Rather glad we no longer visit zoos - can see lion cut into hillside, at Whipsnade, from front bedrooms - it's about 10 miles away.

Re: Chester Zoo

My eldest daughter was married at Chester Zoo earlier this year. It was a really good day, the ceremony and reception were held in the Oakfield  Manor ( used to be offices and restaurant complex ). The wedding was at 12:30 followed by a buffet lunch. The guests were then free to do as they pleased during the afternoon, either mingle in the Oakfield or wander round the zoo. At about 6:30, when the zoo had closed to the public, we were taken on a private tour by some of the zoo keepers. When we got to the monkey enclosure, they'd all gone inside as the normal visitors had left, but when they heard the keepers voice talking to us, they started to pop their heads out wondering what was happening. Soon they were all outside playing, wonderful!. While we were out on the tour the staff had prepared the food ( a barbeque ) and the rooms for the evening. After the barbeque the zoo arranged an Ice Cream cart with a selection from one of the local Ice cream Farms and the guests could go and help themselves.
All in all it was an excellent day and the zoo staff were fantastic. Smiley
