Censorship

Not sure who said, " I might not agree with what you said but I will defend your right to say it"
Can't say I agree with this but equally how far do we go as far as censorship is concerned ?
Plusnet has a list of things that are subject to censorship, would it be appropriate to use this as a basis for the internet as a whole ?
How this would be policed is another matter.

Re: Censorship

A lot of depends on context and audience.  Applying blanket rules across the entire internet would be a bad idea.
In some instances though,  this is a bit more appropriate...

Re: Censorship

I don't know if it still applies but the word plus not was banned (not as two words as one - like this: plusnet). There were a few others too one that springs to mind being M $ (M$)
Edit I see o in plus not became e for plus net  Cheesy
Free speech? No such thing. You thought the great firewall of china was bad? This isp changes your text before the traffic even goes onto the internet  Crazy
Another Edit: At least M$ works now!

You mean this ISP where the forums are moderated by customers along with decisions about the swear filter?

They key being "SAY", as soon as it goes into print, facebook, twitter, any other social or broadcast media a person should be made accounted for their 'words'.
